1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville AMT 1-25 Scale Model Promo.MP4


In 2002 I bought a 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville (my favorite of the '54-'56 body style) with 51000 miles on it. Therefore, I wanted to get the same model in scale. I've been an enthusiast of scale model cars practically all my life, beginning with my first Ford in 1949, which I still have. I had at least one and sometimes two of AMT and JoHan models from 1949 to 1959–but never had a Cadillac, which first came out in 1955. I've bought all these models off eBay in the intervening years 2003 'till now–my most recent acquisition was the pink and black one. I didn't know a pink and black had been made and was thrilled to get it as pink and black was the quintessential color combination of 1956–applied to everything from shoes, to sport jackets, to shorts, to shirts, to portable record players, to every model of automobile available. I have 25 models in various color combination, both with and without interiors in the same color schemes. The lone blue one at 0:32-0:42 is the only solid color model I've ever seen and believe it must be fairly rare as two-toning was all the rage in those years. There are also a couple of what I call stand-alone colors, such as dark and light green and a tan and white which seem to diverge from the usual pastel hues of red/white, blue/white, etc. I've obtained a few at very low prices because they had broken hood ornaments–this item is easily replaceable through the Modelhaus.
