1956 Cadillac power trunk lid pull down
12. August 2008 by Lars SchenkI repaired the electronic power trunk lid pulldown. Before it was put back into the car, the final test should make clear that the switches are working good and that no power is on the motor, when in closed or released position.
This video shows how it operates - the upper switch (used with the finger to make the test) is sensing if the lid was snaped in. The lower switch (connected to the voltometer) is sensing the position of the lift. If the lift is up (lid open) the switch is pressed down. If the lift is down (lid closed), the switch is pulled up. Both switches together are the "brain" of this device… Great ! And remember - this was 1956!
