This weeks beauty of a Cadillac comes from Dave from Idaho. He sent us in some beautiful pics of his 1963 Cadillac that was bought brand new and garage kept all these years. As you will see below this is one fine looking Cadillac.

Here are some pictures of my Caddy, this was my Mom’s Car, they bought it new in 1963,it has been garaged all it’s life and still look’s almost as good as it did forty plus years ago. It has over 100 thousand mile’s on it,but it still runs strong and handles like a dream.

My step dad kept it maintained right to the top. The only thing is they bought it with out Air Condition. Living in Moscow Idaho I guess they thought they wouldn’t need it. every thing else is power, even has the automatic light dimmer.

You can see more pictures on our 1963 Cadillac pages. Thanks again for Dave for sending in pictures of this beautiful Cadillac.

We all know that celebrities love Cadillac’s and who can blame them. It seems that celebrities like Tiger Woods or Tracy Morgan crashing up their Escalades are all over the place. Here is a story you just have to shake your head at. Actress Mischa Barton bought herself a nice classic Cadillac convertible and then ran out of gas. No I am not kidding this really happened.

Saw this story on USAToday.com and it caught my attention. I had my doubts about this until I did a little more research. It is a 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville concept. Really I didn’t think this was a Cadillac. Looks like a real tank of a car.

As I have reported before sales of the SRX are up this year. I see this as families here are trading in their gas guzzling SUV for a more practical car for the family. Here is an article that agrees with me. If you are interested in the new 2010 Cadillac SRX here is a great review to read.

I have been promising you some video from the Auto Collection show in Las Vegas. Here is a general overview of the place. As you will see they have some real classic cars there. If you ever get the chance to visit Las Vegas make sure you head to the Imperial Palace casino.

When I write these updates I always have to keep aware that we have many readers with many different agendas. Some like to see vintage Cadillac’s and some are signed up because they just bought the latest Cadillac. I try to give everyone what they want. With that said lets get see what is happening this week.

The new Cadillac’s are a hit. When I first heard about the new Cadillac CTS sport wagon the first thing that came to my mind is “WHY” but after seeing all the reports I can understand why. Families have to adjust their driving needs and these new Cadillac’s are perfect for the dad who wants some power in his car and the mom who needs the family car to be practical for the family. Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Our friend Bruce Nunnally of Caddyinfo.com and Jane Devin have a great piece on the Cadillac XTS Platinum concept. They interview Interior Designer Christine Park who explains all about the features of this beauty. I love the built in DVD players in the rear seats. You can see more here Caddyinfo.com Cadillac XTS Platinum

With everyone talking about plug-in hybrids it doesn’t surprise me that one would be a Cadillac. I think it’s only a matter of time before we are seeing these on the street. Cadillac plug in hybrids

Here are something for fans of 1978 Cadillac’s This is a nice piece on a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Classic Coupe. There are many pictures of this beauty of a car. 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Classic

I ran across some cool pictures of a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible on Flickr. I have to warn you that once you go to Flickr and look at the pictures you could be there for hours. Have fun! 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

I am still working on all the video’s I took in Las Vegas last week, I will get them up very soon.

I just came back from one of my favorite places Las Vegas. I go two or three times a year and always head over to the Imperial Palace Auto Collections show. There is usually some classic Cadillac’s there among the many many cars that I wish I owned. I was quite surprised though that there was not as many Cadillac’s as usual. They only had 3 Cadillac’s on the floor and two were ones that I had already seen. The 1935 that was owned by WC Fields and the so-called 1959 with the TV that I have taken numerous pictures of in the past.

The third Cadillac was nothing special, it was a 1990 with low miles and it looked just like my neighbors car that he uses everyday to go to work. The car was super clean but nothing special to me. Maybe 20 years from now I would appreciate it more. Guess this place just spoils me and I am always looking for vintage Cadillac’s. There were plenty of 1930’s Rolls Royces there and many big old Lincolns but the Cadillac’s have seemed to disappear. Maybe collectors are buying them up?

I spoke to one of the guys working there about the 1959 and told him about all the emails I received about that car and he really didn’t have that much info on the car. I did notice that all the signs on the car have been changed, they no longer say that Lars owned the car and makes no mention of Harley Earles “skunkworks” shop. It just says the car was restored somewhat in 2002. Below is the video I made last time I was at the show of the 1935. I will get the new pictures and videos up as soon as I can. If you plan on going to the Casino and seeing all the cars make sure you get a Harrah’s Total Rewards card. You can get free admission to the show if you do a little gambling before you go in. Anyway you can save some money in Las Vegas it is a good thing.

Just put up a sweet picture from Louise who is up in Canada of her 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood. She bought it as a Christmas gift for her then boyfriend who is now her husband. I love the sleekness of it and of course the fins.

You can also see it on the homepage Cadillac Club. Thanks Louise for sending that one in. Your husband is a lucky guy!

Received a piece of mail last week from Bill from California wishing to show us all his 1985 Cadillac Eldorado. It is very rare for me to get snail mail nowadays and it makes doing the site worth while. Thanks Bill and I am glad you enjoyed the pictures on the site. You are the reason I take the time to try to make this site the best it can be. Your picture will be up shortly.

That brings me to tell you that you can have your Cadillac featured on the site. I will even make you a page that you can show off to all your friends if you wish. There is probably about 25 pages from members that I made over the years. All you have to do is send me the information about your Cadillac and a few pictures.

Here are some that you may have not already seen. Lamont’s 2005 CTS-V, Tom from Texas 1951 restoration, Ron from Ohio 2006 DTS, Brians 1995 Cadillac, Earle’s Cadillac Pro Car pictures.

This is not the way a Cadillac is suppose to spend its final days. Up near Seattle Washington “Bud O” a Cadillaccountryclub member let me know about this poor Cadillac that needs some love.

I hope there is someone out there that can make this 1968 Cadillac look like it once did. It looks like it needs a full restoration.

“At first glance, I thought this car had been underwater, what with it’s myriad water-based lifeforms clinging to its seals and all. Heck, there are even visible signs of green slime inside the windshield.”

See more or get in touch with the owner here.

http://jalopnik.com/397423/drowned-cadillac-and-skeletal-ranchero-await-resurrection-in-washington-storage-yard

On another note drinking and driving doesn’t mix

With July 4th right around the corner I don’t have to tell you that people will make the mistake of going to a BBQ and having drinks and then getting into their car and driving. This is a story that will just make you say HuH and she did it in a Cadillac which makes matters worse.

Sorry I havent been posting much lately. I took a trip out to Las Vegas where it seems that every other car I saw was a Cadillac. Besides doing some slot machines I was busy taking pictures.

I have had the honor of looking at some new pictures lately. William from California sent in some pics of his 1950 Cadillac Coupe Deville. She sure is a beauty.

You can see more pictures of her on the 1950 Cadillac pages http://www.cadillaccountryclub.com/1950-cadillac.html

It seems that more and more people have been contacting me lately with classic Cadillac questions. I don’t know the reason but I am glad that more people are restoring these Caddilacs back to their original form. It makes the site easier to work on when I have new people writing in.

On another note did anyone see the guy that drove his car from Chicago to New York on one tank of gas. He called his style of driving hypermiling or something like that. It was on the CBS early show. He claims that if you go slower and don’t use the brake as much you can save a lot of gas, but it causes you to get to your destination slower. Guess if you are not in a hurry it is a good thing. With the price of gas nowadays it can help save some money by trying it. You can see more here http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/05/19/earlyshow/main4107075.shtml

Every once in a while I stumble across a vintage Cadillac that makes me jump up and say Wow. As you have seen on the main site there is a picture of a 1935 Cadillac 370-D Fleetwood Torn Cabriolet. This Cadillac sure did get my attention.

It was a jet glossy black piece of machinery that just screamed classic. The Caddy looked like it just came out of a show room floor. The big V-12 was the thing that provided this baby with a ton of power.

From the medalion near the car it said it won numerous awards including the 2005 Palm Beach Concours d’Elegance winner, 2003 Ameilia Island 100 Years of Cadillac, and the 2004 National Senior Grand First place. Like I said this car is a dream.

The car is currently sitting at the auto collections show at the Imperial Palace casino in Las Vegas. I was out there in early March and actually comped to see all the classic auto’s that are on display. There must be over 100 of them there at all times.

I promised you guys a few pictures and stuff on older Cadillacs last time I wrote. Here is a page with a few 1950’s Cadillacs that I hope you enjoy. I am currently in Las Vegas and yesterday I was over at the Imperial Palace taking pictures of some classic Cadillacs. They had one from the 1930’s and of course the 1953 that was owned by Rita Hayworth was still there.

I picked up a book about the first 100 years of Cadillac at the gift shop and I was amazed by all the information and the pictures. More on that in a later post, I am sure I will make a review of the whole book when I finish it. Here is a link if you want to check it out for yourself. Cadillac: 100 Years of Innovation. I am amazed at all the celebrities and their Cadillacs. The writer really has a passion about Cadillac.
