Welcome in 2008!
The gallery on our site stores more than 16000 photos. While our gallery at Classic-Cadillac.com was growing over the last years, we found out that many users did not like to use the software. Yes, it’s not easy to handle that software when you are a newbie. We also learned that users start to upload pictures to Flickr.com. It’s way more easy to do that and you are more free to organize your own photos at flickr than you can do that here. So we want you to encurage to upload your photos to flickr.com and when you do that, you can send your photos to the new Classic-Cadillac Group at flickr.
As with the site Classic-Cadillac.com, the idea is to bring classic Cadillac lovers together.
With this group we move to flickr to allow a more easy handling to upload and contribute your pictures.
With our own gallery here in this site we can and will not compete against flickr and we think that now joining flickr is a good move. Its easy to learn how to upload and store your photos online and maintain your photo sets (you do not have to learn how to handle the gallery on our site – if you know flickr it’s all you need to learn) and we will open up the door to a even bigger community. I hope you are encouraged to open up your own flickr account today (if you haven’t allready done) and to join us on flickr.

Site relaunch

Dear visitor, this site has relaunched. If you read this, you are using the new site (with new software and server under the hood). The migration from the old system to the new wordpress based system will bring a much easier web frontend to the users. So it’s realy realy simple to use this site now – even when you are no internet expert. Please don’t miss to read the new help page for further infos.

Since 2002 this is a non commercial site where anyone can drop by, become a member, and start contributing stories, upload pictures, or just enjoy the efforts of other members. Feel free to use the different sections of the site to brag, sell, buy, and generally help each other out. The site has the power to capture and document a large slice of the history of classic Cadillacs. I will supply and maintain the underlying site-platform, but most of the information has to come from you, the user.
The picture gallery has grown to more than 10000 pictures making it one of the largest picture galleries for classic cadillacs on this planet. A dedicated high performance server with redundant high-speed connection allows fast access worldwide.

Gallery How-To (Cadillac-Gallery updated to version 1.4.4)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This file is obsolate. The hints given here may not work anymore since we have changed the underlying software plattform. We will update this documentation soon (17-december-2007)
There are many new great features available:
All logged-in users can
- request Email-Notifications when comments were added or other changes are made.
- vote for images.
- use photo-print-services like shuterfly and others.
If you ran into trouble or find som
1. If you do not have a user name and password for the Classic-Cadillac.COMunity yet, you need to sing up first
2. With your user name and passwort log in.
3. Enter the Gallery album Introduce your Cadillac.
3. As a logged in user you’ll see an selection box in the top right corner of the album-page. This box has all the “admin options” that are available for you.
Select “new nested album” in this box and a new album will be created that is empty at the moment. You’ll see the text “Hey! Add some photos.”
4. Now it’s time time upload your pictures: Again select the menu-box “admin options” (top right corner) and choose “Add Photos”.
5. An new popup-windows will open with instructions to upload your pictures. Here you can select files from your local hard disk and upload them to the site.
For each picture you can ad a caption – you can also do this later.
Scroll down and click the button “Upload now” on the bottom of the page. Now you have to wait a moment until pictures were uploaded.
When upload is completed you’ll see a “Processing status”. Click the “Dismiss” button on this page to close the window.
6. You picture has uploaded – reload the page to see it in your album. That’s it your picuture is on the site now!
Here some other hints on further features that you may choose to use:
- When you are looking at a album that you are owning, you have mutible options in the “admin option” menu (upper right corner).
Use them to add further photos, edit captions, rename your album (when you create your album, there is no name set).
- When you are looking at a album that you are owning, you have a “edit photo” menu below each photo. Use this menu to edit Text for a photo, rotate, flip, highlight, reorder, hide or delete your photos.
- Every album has checkboxes
Email me when: Comments are added [ ] Other changes are made [ ]
This this options to get email when someone adds comments to your pictures.
- You can vote for every picture: Set the menubox for the rating you’ll set to this picture and click the button “vote” to store all your votes on one page.
These are all the most imported things you’ll need to know about the photo albums. There are many other things you can do. Explore the albums and have fun.

Most pictures where found in the Cadillac Year by Year section. Thanks to David Hall at ephemeranow.com we have some wonderfull scans of Brochures and Ads.
Over the last month we got more and more users who submited pictures of their cadillacs and projects to the Introduce your Cadillac section.
Feel free to use this gallery to share your pictures with us: Register and log in to submit your own Cadillac-pictures. It’s easy to upload pictures directly from your local disk drives. Our community can hardly await to see your photos of your cadillac, project or whatever is related to classic cadillacs.
You can also comment others photos- it’s a really good tool. Just try it and have fun…!
As a registerd User, you can submit news to tell your stories and use the thumbnail pictures from your gallery to show your pictures directly in your articles. Here’s a little “how to”: First upload your pictures to your own gallery. Then submit your artice. You can use the copy and paste function from your browser to copy the urls of your thumbnail pictures to an html-IMG-Tag SRC attribute.
