This car is located in Sola, Norway. I bought the car in 1995 as a restoration project. The car was in bad shape. There was a colony of ants in the driver’s door. It was heavily rusted in the floors, rocker channels and under mouldings as well in the trunk. Interior was teared up. It took me nine years to get it back on the road (2004). Well,, I didn’t restore every day, I was from time to time pretty sick of it, but inspiration from magazines, other American car enthusiasts, friends and my wife has kept me ongoing with the restoration. I’m glad it’s done, and can take it for a ride when I feel for it.
Many Pictures can be seen at this gallery and please also check out my homepage at: http://www.58cadillac.net/.
There’s also a 57/58 Brougham database available. But as far as I know there is nothing about the 58 Eldorado Biarritz.

We have a couple of pictures of 58 Biarritz in the picture gallery. Most of them are without VID /Body# and color/trimcodes yet. But it’s a start.

I you like that idea, I would be very happy about your support.
You are welcome to send an email to info@lars-schenk.de if you own or know about a 1958 Biarritz.
I would try to make a complete list with:

Body#, VIN#, Paint, Trim, Top and Current Owner, other details.

I will welcome also pictures and detailed infos about the cars.
If someone will give permission to me, I’ll upload pictures and infos to this site.

Anonymous infos are also welcome: There is no need to publish the owners name or contact info.

Thanks for your support. Special Thanks to Dirk van Dorst, Dave Becker and many other for their support.

On June 3, 2003 I bought a 1969 Deville Convertible. Nice car, Aqua Firemist with white interior, 129K miles, and everything worked. One Week later, it started looking rather plain and boring, so I decided to give it some personality with a New Fin Job….

I worked up a plan on a CAD program, grabbed Hemmings, and sought out a set of Dolly Parton 59 Fins with tail lights and cones.

On July 7, while sweating profusely, the old fins went under the knife (er.hack saw). Never having done anything like this before and no guidlines to go by, I made up the rules as I went. I blended the new fins into the old quarter panels, cut the old tail lights housings in half to keep the reverse lights. I spot welded, ground, bondoed, and sanded until it looked right.

Having never done body work before, I was pretty proud of the result 3 weeks later. (Since I have a real job I only did this on Tues and Thurs mornings in my driveway). It took another 3 mornings to sand this monster down before it went to Maaco for a $250 paint job.

I always wanted a Big Finned 59 Cadillac Convertible to drive in a parade and now I have one – Sort OF!

But now I have to wait until Spring. JIm

Last winter i rebuild the whole front end , suspension, brakes, steering , and the engine with carburettor and everything arround.
In my opinion one off the best convertbls. and engines ( 472 ) ever made by Cadillac.
I let the pict’s speak for themself.
